Medieval Monopoly
Start
After an administrator announcement in the public chat, every online character of the matching level automatically receives a personal Teleport to Monopoly. From that moment the round timer starts; it lasts 45 minutes.
To take part, use the received teleport at once; your character will then appear on the starting cell (the “star”) Monopoly, where they are temporarily bound (when the quest ends all participants receive quest “returners” and and are moved back to their usual bind point).
Every character who arrives in Monopoly receives personal items: «Game Dice» for moving and 1500 “Monopoly Gold” for buying keys.
Location
The map of Monopoly is shown on the right. It has two parts — the outer ring, where the main play happens
(this is Peaceful Zone — here you cannot attack even «outlaws») and the Empyrean — a bonus area (this is a Chaos Zone — you may attack other characters with no XP or rating loss; after 60 seconds every visitor of the Empyrean is teleported to the starting cell of the outer ring — the “star»).
On each side of the outer ring there are: Laboratory you will need them to craft in-game “Keyrings” and gambling houses, inhabited by quest mobs — Bookmaker (marked with a question mark on the map).
Eight separate “workshops». Each workshop has 3 property cells and one free cell (which may hold a Laboratory or gambling house).
Corner cells of the outer ring: Exchange shop (the starting “star”), Prison, Slavery and Hard Labour affect whoever stands there:
- Exchange shop 30 seconds after you enter it throws the character a random 1–6 cells counter-clockwise.
- If you land on Prison or Hard Labour, your character gets knockdown for 30 seconds and cannot move. When the knockdown ends the character is thrown a random 1–6 cells counter-clockwise.
- Landing on Slavery, your character gets knockdown for 60 seconds; you cannot move. When it ends the character is thrown back to the starting “star”.
Warning! Using the item «Road Home», moves the character to their main bind point (they leave the quest zone).
Movement
-
The main way to move around the outer ring is the reusable «Game Dice” (like using elixirs — for example a double-click). No more than once every 10 seconds it moves you 1–6 cells counter-clockwise (rolled at random).
-
The alternative way to move around the outer ring is «Cheat Dice» (10 of these single-use dice can be bought for 300 coins from Clerc in the starting cell. There is no purchase limit). It works like “Game Dice”, but every move is exactly 1 cell counter-clockwise.
- When moving with «Game Dice” across the start your character always stops there. So on every full lap you visit Exchange shop.
- Movement in the bonus area of the Empyrean is done in the usual way, in any direction.
- Holders of “Keyring” may move freely across all four cells of the “workshop” of that Keyring’s colour. If you have “Keyring» for two adjacent zones, you may also move freely between them.
Property and income
-
Property is bought through a quest taken and turned in at a specific “house». Each property has a fixed price (in Monopoly Gold), stated in that quest (and shown on each cell of the map above). Standing on the same cell as a house you take its quest and turn it in at once (second click). You receive the matching “key”, which is your title to the property. You may buy a key from a given house at most once every 2 minutes.
-
Once you hold all three keys of one colour from the houses of one workshop, you may craft a «Keyring». To do that you must be in a Laboratory, use a tagged key as the recipe and press “Brew».
-
A Keyring lets you move freely across all four cells of that workshop and collect “rent” (10% of property value) from other players sharing any cell of that workshop. Use the keyring like an elixir; uses are unlimited, but not more often than once every 10 seconds.
-
Extra income you get extra income if another character with the same Keyring is in the cell when you use it. They lose one keyring of that colour, and you receive half its value as “Monopoly Gold». Stay alert — the same attack can be used against you.
Poverty and bankruptcy
• You may keep playing even if you run out of coins.
• In all quests to buy keys, “Cheat Dice” or in the Bookmaker, partial payment — if you cannot pay in full, the quest mob takes all cash and finishes the quest only when you bring the rest of the sum.
• But if someone attacks your character and you do not have enough coins to cover the cost, “bankruptcy”. All keys and Keyrings in the inventory are “sold” at half value and the coins are given to the player. If at “bankruptcy” the character has no assets to sell that way, they leave the game — teleported to Arkijah Town and bound to its “star”.
Bonuses and risks
-
Clerc on the starting cell offers 2 quests:
«Your dividends” — at most once every 2 minutes you are guaranteed 200 coins
«Cheat Dice” — for 300 coins you may buy 10 “Cheat Dice», described above.
-
Bookmaker in the gambling house offers a wager of 200 coins — the quest “Place your bets!”. Odds are even: a win pays 400 coins instead of your stake; a loss pays nothing. This quest, regardless of the Bookmaker, may be done at most once every 2 minutes.
-
The Alchemist in a Laboratory (the quest “Incredible potion” — at most once every 2 minutes) offers a brew that either knocks you down for 30 seconds or teleports you to the Empyrean. the Empyrean is inhabited by Empyrean Grist — level 0 monsters; each kill pays 100 coins.
